The Morning Commute is an occasional look at meetings or other #BikeSpecific discussions and stories happening in the District. It also looks at interesting bike ideas or concepts from other places across the globe that could possibly work here. Again, this isn’t journalism, just fun.

After years of declining deaths, why are cities more dangerous for bicyclists and pedestrians? While more people are riding bikes and walking in our cities, what are the reason why injuries and deaths are now on the rise? Efficient Gov
NY Governor outlaws E-bikes and E-scooter rentals for reasons. Reported by the New York Times, Governor Andrew Cuomo vetoes legislation that would have allowed E-bikes and E-scooter rentals in the state of New York.
” The veto was a blow to several constituencies: scooter companies that operate in dozens of cities in the United States and abroad and see New York as a lucrative, untapped market; delivery workers who rely on an illegal form of transportation to earn a living; and those pressing for ways to ease congestion on New York City’s traffic-choked streets. “

The District is the 3rd most rude U.S. city according to people who probably have never visited it. BS is a little confused by the article out of the Business Insider that suggests that the District is the third “Rudest” city in the nation. where about 19 percent of respondents felt that D.C. took the entire lane while biking and didn’t let a driver pass.
Well, no that isn’t it.
The article states that in October and November of this year BI conducted a survey of more than 2,000 American adults, asking them to choose the five rudest cities in the US from a list of the 50 biggest cities, and presumably their suburbs. They cite the following about the District:
First, I don’t see a problem. Second, the section on the District only provides examples of Trump administration staff. They neglected to include this and that.
That’s just poor reporting, Business Insider. POOR!
